On Saturday, September 7, the General McLane Band Boosters will host the Lakeshore Marching Band Association’s Premier Exhibition. Eighteen bands across Northwestern Pennsylvania will come together to present their shows for the first time after working all summer.
Opening ceremonies are at 4PM with members of BSA Troops 73 (McKean) and 176 (Edinboro) raising the flag and GM Vocal Jazz will perform the National Anthem. Marching bands of all sizes, from as far east as McKean County, southern most Crawford County, will then perform. Edinboro University will also perform.
The Band Boosters will have a wide variety of activities available to help fans show their support. Candy grams are popular, spectators can purchase a candy bar and personalize it for their favorite color guard, manager, or instrumentalist’s name and a message of encouragement. The concession stand will be open with its usual fare in additional GM’s Chicken Spiedies sandwiches. Spiedies is diced chicken which is then marinated and grilled, a fan favorite which always sells out fast.
Raffle baskets, bake sale, a 50/50, and novelties will also be offered.
The show begins at 4PM at General McLane’s Linden Field. Cost of admission is $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for students and senior citizens.
