2012-13 GM Lancer Wrestlers Have A Fantastic Season!
District 10 AAA Tournament champions!

The 2012-2013 General McLane wrestling team may be one of the best teams in the history of GM’s wrestling program.
They are the first McLane wrestling team to finish the regular season unbeaten (15-0) since the 1974-75 Lancers
went 14-0. This year’s team ended the dual meet season with an overall record of 16-1. They suffered their only
loss in the finals of the District 10 Team Duals to McDowell.
In addition, the 2012-2013 McLane wrestling team won the Clearfield Duals and were crowned Tool City, Fred Bell,
Region 4AAA and District 10 AAA Tournament champions. Head Coach Ryan Cook was named District 10 AAA Coach of the
Year.
The Lancers won the District 10 AAA Tournament on February 16th with 5 individual champions. Joe Wheeling, Mike
Sutton, Tyler Hendricks, Chris Laird and Alex Thayer all won their respective weight classes. Hunter Hendricks
and Keller Watkins took runnerup honors. Ken Stoll, Ossie Bowers, Jake Baker and Ian Mallory took 3rd’s and Deane Twitchell placed 4th. In all, 12 GM wrestlers will advance to the NW Regional Tournament in Altoona on March 1st
and 2nd. The top 3 wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the PIAA Championships which will be held in
Hershey, PA. on March 7th, 8th and 9th.
Junior, Joe Wheeling has had an excellent season, winning King of the Mountain, Fred Bell and District 10
Tournament titles. Wheeling will head to regionals with a stellar, 30-1 record and is ranked 4th in the state at
106 lbs.
