Local news today told of the University president announcing his exit. No comment there, but we did come across some recent activity to try to bring the Edinboro University Homecoming Parade back to the community streets.
There is a petition available online that already has a few hundred signatures to let the powers know the feelings of the community and many of the downtown merchants.
Anyone who has experienced the parade as a community event knows that it truly becomes a community celebration, in recent years that have seen it remain completely on campus also know that “something is missing”
If you feel so inclined you may make your feelings known by going to this link: Petition
In another note, although no flowers have been spotted the streets and roads of the area are certainly sprouting some significant potholes. Makes for some rough driving and additional wear on the family ride. If you come across any that are beyond the norm or dangerous you can call 1-800-FIX-ROAD to let PENDOT know about it.
High school runners are out again in the afternoon after school, training for the spring track season. Please use extra caution when passing them on local roads. In addition to a good workout, their Mom’s appreciate them burning off the energy before they get home, keeps them quiet at dinner!
A final note: If your club group or organization is sponsoring an event that you would like assistance promoting, please forward your information to email@example.com We will post your information and let the community know what you are doing. This is a FREE service of EdinboroOnline.com
