Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre is Presenting the “Fairy Tale Series” at the General McLane High School

The Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre is presenting the Fairy Tale Series at the General McLane High School on March 25th at 2 pm and 5pm

This is a program that will be fun for all ages. Mother Goose will be there reading the stories of Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and the Ugly Duckling. She will be accompanied by the Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre performing ballet, jazz and tap to “illustrate” the stories.

There are several important aspects to this performance.

This performance is geared toward younger kids exposing them to forms of dance and re-iterating the joy of reading.
The performance is purposely being held in the rural areas. So much of our Arts and Culture life is concentrated in downtown Erie. We are bringing arts outside of the city.
There is a green aspect. Costumes are being up-cycled from previous performances and second hand shops, props are re-cycled and the sets and paper products usually associated with a performance have purposely been reduced.
Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre dancers spent a day at the ExpERIEnce Children’s Museum reading Fairy Tales, again to create a sense and love for reading.
