General McLane Radio to Debut Friday

Edinboro, PA (October 6, 2016) – Can’t make it to a General McLane sporting event, but still want to follow along?

Thanks to senior Isaac Petkac, community members, alumni and Lancer fans will now have that opportunity. General McLane Radio debuts this Friday with the broadcast of the Lancers vs. East football game.

“I want to give the community an opportunity to listen and be more engaged with the General McLane School District,” said Petkac, who plans to pursue sports broadcasting after high school. “This will also give me the opportunity to gain experience while giving to the General McLane community at the same time.”

So far, the broadcast schedule includes the last three football games, but Petkac plans to broadcast as many sporting events as he can.

His aspiration is four-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer and NBC sports broadcaster Mike “Doc” Emrick.

“People look at sports and look at all of the power and emotion within the game, but there is another aspect to it — and that’s the individuals who give emotion to the game at the same time,” Petkac said, “I would like to follow in Emrick’s footsteps and be able to relay that same emotion into sports.”
