Goodell Gardens Schedules First “Tea Time Talk” For May 1st

Goodell Gardens & Homestead Education Coordinator Heather Zimmerman said that she is excited to announce the first event in the 2011 season of Tea Time Talks.

On Sunday, May 1, from 3-5 p.m., Goodell Gardens will host “Make and Take Container Gardens” with Jeanne Chapman.

Chapman, container designer at Scotland Yards Greenhouse & Nursery in Edinboro, will guide the class through the process of designing and planting a container garden. Students will have the opportunity to create a shade or sun container garden that they can then take home with them at the end of the class.

The plants, pots and soil will be included in the cost of admission to this educational event. Goodell Gardens members can sign-up to attend this class for a discounted rate of $15, while nonmembers will be required to pay $20. This additional fee is to cover the cost of the materials. Tea and scones from the Lakeside Bagel & Deli will be provided.

The plants will be provided by Scotland Yards Greenhouse & Nursery, the sponsor of this opening-day event.

Class size is limited to 20 people, so be sure to call (814) 734-6699 or email to sign up today!
