Hermitage House Fall Festival Fun for the Whole Family

The Hermitage House “Heart to Home” Fall Festival has become a wonderful autumn tradition
for families in our region.

This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, October 7th at their South Campus (24994 Drakes Mill Rd. in Cambridge Springs). The day kicks off with the
9th Annual 5K Walk / Run at 10:30. The event will run from 11:00 until 3:00 and will feature the live music of local favorite “The HighLife Duo,” pony rides, hay rides, pumpkin painting, a NYPUM mini-bike demonstration, and family games. Three new games will add to the fun: Putt, Drive and Chip Challenge (sponsored by Hole-in-One-Hoagies), a Cornhole Tournament and a Scavenger Hunt.

Admission is free and all children’s games and activities are free.

Families always love the special treats at the festival, especially Fat Boys Wings and Scott Muckinhaupt’s pulled-pork sandwiches! We’ll also be serving walking tacos, Smith hot dogs and nachos with cheese.

Fresh-baked pies and Kristen’s Kookies of Saegertown will thrill both adults and children.

The highlight of the event is a Chinese Auction. The involvement of area businesses has been crucial to the success of this “Friend-Raising Event.” It has become a great way to invite our guests to visit area businesses.

Our event offers over 60 baskets!

The fun begins at 10:30 a.m. with the 8th annual 5K Run/Walk for the whole family. Awards will be presented to six age groups. 5K registration forms are available at Brink Ink, Snap Fitness, Edinboro YMCA, Meadville YMCA, and through the Erie Runners Club. Forms are also available at www.hermitagehouse.org. Participants receive an event t-shirt by pre-registering by September 15th. We thank Beacon Lubricants and Brink Ink, our two major 5K sponsors.

Most importantly, check out the varied talents of Hermitage House youth. The Art Club will present their Fall Show. The club is generously funded by Gannon University’s Schuster Art Gallery. Also, the youth in their NYPUM Program will be displaying their mini-bike riding skills. These riders have been practicing all summer on the bikes which are provided by Street Track ‘n Trail in Conneaut Lake.
