EDINBORO, PA (January 29, 2018) – Opening night for James W. Parker Middle School’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. is almost a week away.
Disney’s award-winning animated film and stage play comes to life in this romantic and beloved take on the classic fairytale.
“When I started here, there were not a lot of students that were too shy to come out of their shell, which I loved. Many of my students are very charismatic and this show was an easy pick for them to show off their talent,” said James W. Parker Middle School teacher and play director Julia McCollum. “I am excited to see my students shine and I love seeing them grow every practice. They are very talented students.”
Shows are February 8th and 9th at 7 p.m. and February 10th at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door only and are $5 per adult, $3 per student. The show takes place at General McLane High School in the auditorium.
Students cast for roles include: the Beast (Isaac Smith), Belle (Kaitlyn Dubynski), Lumiere (Olivia Mussett), Gaston (Aiden Dougan), Lefou (JC Williams), Babette (Tobeigh Ingram), Wardrobe (Hannah Wolfe), Mrs. Potts (Meredith Moore), Chip (Caleigh Meyer) and many more.
“This is such a wonderful story with lots of turns and twists. This show will leave you with a smile and a warm heart,” McCollum said.
General McLane School District is dedicated to making the arts an integral component of the District’s curricular and co-curricular programs, which has made General McLane home to one of the most competitive arts programs in Erie, PA.
