Sadly, one of the Vietnam veterans honored at my recent pinning ceremony has left this world for a better place. Gary E. Webster (pictured in the tan jacket, above) passed away recently. This proud Marine earned a Purple Heart for wounds sustained in July 1966. Two of the highlights in his life were meeting John Bradley, the Navy Corpsman who raised the flag on Iwo Jima, and finding his foxhole buddy after 50 years.
We proudly honor this American hero in death as he deserved to be honored in life. We will never forget him, and our other American heroes.
Received from Senator Michelle Brooks.
