Richard A. Savelli age 73, of Edinboro, passed away on December 2, 2017 at Sarah A. Reed.
He was born in Erie on September 26, 1944, the son of the late Richard and Lucille Savelli.
Rich fought a battle with brain cancer for almost 14 years with his ever faithful and loving wife Mary constantly at his side. They fought his disease together always brave and never giving up. No stone was left unturned in his treatment. They made the very best of life together, traveling, having a winter home in Florida and enjoying their many friends over the years.
Rich owned Rich’s Auto Body in Erie for many years, and then owned and operated Erie Motor Car in Erie where he retired from in 2008. He and Mary loved cars, antiquing, and traveling
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his blue heeler “Rudy”.
Besides Mary, he is survived by his two sisters, Donna Babe (Kenny) of Erie and Kathy Luther of Waterford; five sons, David Savelli (Tammy) of Erie, Ricky Savelli (Brooke) and Danny Savelli (Bekah) both of California, John Lyons (Dorota) of Erie and Mike Lyons of Albion; four grandchildren, Justus, Dawson and Maysun of Erie and Declan of California; and many nieces, nephews and his little dog Jack. He is further survived by his in-laws, Tim Ferguson(Lois) and Matt Ferguson (Julie) both of Fairview, and Renee Peters (Bill) of Fairport, NY.
At the request of Rich, no calling hours will be observed. A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
