Walter R. Dickson, Jr., 91, died peacefully at his home in Edinboro on Friday, August 30, 2019. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 1, 1928, the son of the late Walter R. Dickson, Sr. and Helen Dickson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Rose Mary; six children, Debra Kersting, Mary Ellen McCorkle (Dwight), Elizabeth Morgan Gerlach, Walter R. Dickson III (Becky), Linda Marnic (Stephen) and Frank Dickson (Jeanette); 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Walt is further survived by a sister-in-law, Fran Kaiser (John); a brother -in-law, Tom Streiff (Bernice) and many nieces and nephews.

Walt proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He worked with his father, and was later employed as an engineer at John Harrison Co. in Glenshaw, PA, where he spent most of his professional career. He could do and fix anything for anyone, and he did!

Walt enjoyed cooking and satisfied many appetites with his culinary skills.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro, and American Legion Post 439.

Friends may call at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Dr., Edinboro on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 9 to 10 a.m, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sharpsburg, PA.
