Donald L. Seeman, Jr.

           Donald L. Seeman, Jr., 73 of Edinboro, died Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by family.  He was born in Altoona, PA on December 23, 1947, the son of the late Donald and Mary Seeman.

            Don served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a Radioman Second Class with top security clearances aboard the USS Essex CVS-9 Aircraft Carrier.  His interest in electronics led him to television engineering positions in both Harrisburg and locally at WJET-TV.  He later founded Seeman Electronics, which he operated for 35 years.  Most recently, Don was the managing force behind Edinboro’s community based online publication, edinboroonline.com.

            Among his many hobbies and interests, Don was a history buff. He enjoyed woodworking, flower gardening and spending time on the range shooting black powder.  He loved Disneyworld and vacationing in Florida.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro and second degree in the Knights of Columbus.  He also served as a board member for Boro Women and Family Services.

               Don was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael and a son-in-law, Dean Shepherd.

           Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Janet; 2 daughters, Jennifer Shepherd of Edinboro and Jamie (Stephen Kelly) Seeman of Florida; 2 sons, Chad (Valerie) Seeman and Sean (Erin Rizzone) Seeman, both of Edinboro; a brother, Dean (Olivia) Seeman of Hanover, PA; 3 sisters, Sharon (Russell) Crow of Indiana, Patty Seeman of Mercer, PA and Jewel (Joe) Tunstall of Harrisburg, PA; and 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Erin, Michael, Lloyd, Galen, Cian and Aiden.

      Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday 12/19/21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A service will be held there on Monday 12/20/21.  All CDC guidelines requiring masks and social distancing will be in place.
