Community Composting comes to Borough

The borough of Edinboro invites community members to sign-up for their new food composting program.

Residents will pay a one-time fee of $5 that covers the cost of their bucket, lids, and liners. The bucket is then yours to keep. After this one-time fee, the continued service is FREE for all residents of the borough that have curbside refuse pickup. This service is possible due to funding from the Erie County Recycling Program.

The US Composting Council website states the benefits of using compost are as follows:

  • “Prevents Soil Erosion
  • Assists in Stormwater Management
  • Promotes Healthier Plant Growth
  • Conserves Water
  • Reduces Waste
  • Combats Climate Change
