GMSD PARTNERS WITH EDINBORO UNIVERSITY’S ‘BEEHIVE’

The following was released today by the General McLane School District about a new Logo that will be unveiled this Upcoming Monday May 23rd, 2022 at the James W. Parker Middle School.

EDINBORO, PA (May 17, 2022) – General McLane School District prides itself on being student-centered and student-focused.

That’s why, when it came time to freshen up the school’s branding and logo, the administrative team looked to no one else but local students.

The school district recently partnered with Edinboro University’s branch of the NWPA Innovation Beehive Network to do exactly that.

An unveiling of that logo and more about that partnership will be shared during a news conference being held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022, in the library at James W. Parker Middle School, 11761 Edinboro Road.

The ‘Beehive’ team, which consisted of a group of Edinboro students led by a General McLane alumnus, worked closely with GMSD administration to design a new official logo for the district, along with re-imagining the school’s mascot design and capturing photography of the campus and its students. The NWPA Innovation Beehive Network is a grant-funded collaboration between Edinboro University, Gannon University, Mercyhurst University, Penn State Behrend and the Erie County Public Library aimed at fostering economic development in Northwest Pennsylvania. Edinboro’s Center for Branding and Strategic Communication offers services in public relations and marketing communication, including graphic and interactive design, social media management, and digital media production.
