Former Angola, NY resident and current Edinboro, PA resident Donald J. Fox, 88, passed peacefully at home with his family on May 9, 2022 after a painful battle with cancer. Donald (lovingly known as Donny, Papa and Papa Don) spent his long life surrounded by those he loved, taking care of his grandchildren, playing slots and living life to the fullest every single day. He loved to watch Jeopardy, America’s Got Talent, The Voice and American Idol. At the end of the day, he loved to sit with his family and snuggle with his cat, Dream, while snacking on black licorice and chocolate.
Donald was born January 18, 1934 in Buffalo, New York. He served in the United States Army and retired as a Postmaster in Farnham, NY with the United States Postal Service. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence and his sister, Sister Mary Colette.
Donald is survived by his children, Michael (Donna) Fox, Karen (Tracy Gast) Hajiaskari, his grandchildren Alexis, Parker, Lucien, Jessica, Stephanie and Tiffany, and his sister, Phyllis Smith.
Donald will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness and beautiful spirit and will be sorely missed by those that love him.
No calling hours will be observed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, PA on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. Flowers graciously declined.
