Isabel Retterer, 91 of Edinboro, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 13, 2022

Isabel was born on October 15, 1930 to Isabella and Louis Wilson in Motherwell, Scotland. Although a naturalized US citizen, Isabel remained very proud of her Scottish heritage.

Isabel graduated from McKeesport High School in 1949. She went on to become a registered nurse after completing her nurse’s training at Columbia Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. During her training she made many lifelong friends. She also met her husband, Irvine R. Retterer.  They were married in 1952 and went on to have four daughters.

In addition to her parents. Isabel was preceded in death by her husband, Irvine and sisters, Rita Wells and Mary Price.

She is survived by her four daughters, Patricia Retterer (Gary), Lesley Little (Christopher), Kimberly Phillips (Mark) and Jill Marcellini (Dale). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Thomas Nyman, Christopher Nyman, Ali Wood, Kaiti Tichansky, Molly Phillips, Dylan Marcellini and Caitlin Little; as well as her great grandson, Carter Wood.  Her great granddaughter, who will be making her entry to the world any day now, will share the name Isabel with her great grandma.  She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  Family was the most important thing to Isabel. She was dedicated to her family and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than life itself.

Isabel’s family remains grateful to everyone who helped them through this difficult time.
